Plastering Course (June)

Service Description

Our plastering course has been expertly designed to give you the basic skills required to carryout plastering jobs around the home. The three-day course is comprised of: • An introduction and explanation of different types of plasterboard and their uses. • Accurate measuring and safe cutting of plasterboard to fit an aperture wall. • Correct positioning and fixing of plasterboard to an aperture wall using appropriate tools and fixings. • Instruction on the correct preparation and mixing of skim finish plaster to achieve the appropriate consistency. • Practice of applying skim finish plaster to a ceiling surface using correct plastering techniques. • Preparation, mixing, and application of skim finish plaster to wall surfaces to produce a smooth, even finish. • Apply skim beads to the edges of an aperture wall to create clean, durable corners. • Application of self-adhesive skim tape to joints and seams on an aperture wall to reinforce plaster and reduce cracking. • Preparation and application of skim finish plaster to the aperture wall to achieve a smooth, even finish. • Reparation of damaged area on a skimmed wall, including patch plastering and make good to restore a consistent finish.
